From commemoration items to jerseys, each acts to attract attention to a certain location within your home. Centerpieces are meant to draw attention, but some people tend to misuse these products by surrounding them with other unnecessary ornaments. What’s worse is how specific decorations can be hung on off-colored walls or set on top of tablecloths that can steal attention from an item intended to attract attention. If you’re considering hanging up that new jersey you had autographed or placing a new centerpiece on a table, you may want to be sure you are using the items properly before visitors are left shaking their heads in disgust.
Table Centerpieces with Tablecloths
Tablecloths add character to your kitchen and dining room table; without a cloth, the table often shows up as bare and simple, and since most people use holiday-themed tablecloths, the centerpiece should go with the cloth as well. You cannot just place any cloth on the table and presume that it will go with the decoration; you have to match your cloth with the color and design of the item. Say you have a centerpiece of a family and this certain ornament includes bright colors; now picture how the bright colors would look if placed on a table that uses a bright-colored tablecloth.
Flag Cases
Fallen troops are honored with flag cases given to their spouses, and each case is used to pay to tribute to the courageous actions performed by the solider in combat. Most cases will include an engraving of The United States Great Seal or some other engraving on a placard with the name of the deceased. If you plan on placing other decoration products around the flag case, it is often great to place candles, pictures of you and the fallen or some kind of medal or emblem commemorating his service. Not all items that you place next to the flag case will look appropriate; for instance, if you place various pictures next to the case, it will look awkward, and even if you place a lamp next to it, it should be just a single bulb projecting light downward onto the case.
Shadow Boxes for Jerseys
Sports fans love to hang their autographed jerseys inside of shadow boxes in order to protect the fabric from dust and draw attention to a certain area of the house. When you hang a jersey in a room, you want to surround it with extra memorabilia of the sport or team the individual plays for, such as an encased football next to a football jersey. You need to follow a theme when hanging jerseys, as it would be a strange idea to hang your favorite football jersey alongside a picture of your wife and kids.
